Join our autumn picnic and help raise funds to support survivors of the Japan Earthquake and Tsunami.
Yes, we’re talking about that disaster, the one that happened in 2011. Six years on, communities are still struggling to recover and while Japanese charities are battling with “donor fatigue”, JETAA is committed to helping in any way we can.
So this year’s sixth annual JETAA Vic/Tas/SA Big Bento Lunch fundraiser is a picnic! Bring your friends, family, children and favourite picnic food and enjoy the sunshine!
WHAT: A relaxed BYO picnic. Picnic blankets and soft drinks provided.
WHEN: Saturday, March 25 from 12-3pm.
WHERE: Fitzroy Gardens, 298 Wellington Parade, East Melbourne VIC 3002
COST: Free! Feel free to bring along your own picnic blankets, any outdoor games, or any Japanese games. Donations will be accepted on the day.
RSVP: Email firstname.lastname@example.org by Thursday, March 17. Please contact us if you do not receive confirmation within 48 hours.
NOTE: In the event of bad weather the picnic will be rescheduled to a later date.
This year we’re again donating all funds raised to the Taylor Anderson Memorial Fund. The fund aims to assist students, schools and families in the Ishinomaki and general Tohoku area that are still recovering from the disaster.
If you can’t make it to the picnic and would like to host your own Big Bento Lunch, you can do that, too. Check out our Big Bento Lunch homepage for more details.
